Oder etwas weniger abstrakt: Industrie 4.0 verlangt die Verschmelzung von Produktion und Automation mit IT. Die HANNOVER MESSE 2019 zeigt, wie Vernetzung, In- tegration und Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Disziplinen funk- tioniert. Für Anwender und Ein- käufer bietet die Weltleitmesse der Industrie vom 1. bis 5. April das ganze Spektrum von Lö- sungssystemen für intelligente Fertigungsabläufe und Produk- tionstechnologien. Noch vor wenigen Jahren waren es zwei klar getrennte Bereiche: Automation auf der einen Seite, IT auf der anderen. Die Grenzen hat die digitale Transformation der Industrie jedoch verschwim- men lassen. Die großen Automatisierer und die großen Maschinenbauer sind als Pioniere in die Digitalis- ierungwelt vorgedrungen. Und auch andersherum haben Soft- warekonzerne ihr Interesse für die Industrie entdeckt. „Auch auf der HANNOVER MESSE wachsen die Bereiche Automation und IT immer weiter zusammen“, sagt Arno Reich, Global Director IAMD und Digital Factory im Team der HANNOVER MESSE. „Mit dem Leitthema ‚Industrial Intelli- gence‘ stellt die HANNOVER MESSE 2019 zum einen die digi- tale Vernetzung von Menschen und Maschinen im Zeitalter der künstlichen Intelligenz in den Mittelpunkt. Zum anderen macht sie deutlich, wo dieses Wissen entsteht: auf Plattformen nämlich, die Menschen, Maschi- nen und Daten in Austausch bringen.“ Industrie 4.0 funktioniert nur über eine enge Kooperation von IT und Automation. Dass dies nicht reibungslos geht, liegt auf der Hand. „Die zentrale Heraus- forderung liegt im gegenseitigen Verstehen“, sagt Rainer Glatz, Geschäftsführer im VDMA Elek- trische Automation sowie Soft- ware und Digitalisierung. „Es treffen unterschiedliche Sprach- welten, Disziplinen und Organ- isationseinheiten aufeinander, was häufig zu Missverständnis- sen, gegenläufigen Interessen oder unnötigem Wettbewerb führt.“ Wie eine erfolgreiche Zusam- menarbeit aussehen kann, zei- gen mittlerweile zahlreiche Beispiele. Adamos etwa, die IIoT-Plattform für den Maschi- nen- und Anlagenbau in Koop- eration mit der Software AG. Dort werden Maschinendaten unterschiedlicher Herstell- er aggregiert, um gemeinsam Smart Services für die Kunden zu entwickeln. Den Fokus auf Künstliche Intelligenz und maschinelles Lernen richten ABB und IBM mit ihrer strate- gischen Partnerschaft. Auch die HANNOVER MESSE setzt 2019 auf die zunehmende Bedeutung von Künstlicher Intelligenz für Industrielösungen. Die Messe stellt 2019 „Industrial Intelli- gence“ als Leitthema in den Mit- telpunkt. Partners in Industry 4.0 I ndustry 4.0 is about brin- ging the real and virtual worlds together. In other words, Industry 4.0 means making industry intelligent and integrated by fusing pro- duction and automation with IT. HANNOVER MESSE reveals how smart integration can yield major benefits by means of cross-disciplinary collabo- ration. At HANNOVER MESSE 2019, which runs from 1 to 5 April, users and buyers of in- dustrial technology will be able to survey all the latest and emerging solutions for intelli- gent manufacturing. Not so long ago, industrial auto- mation and IT were two separate spheres with little or no overlap. Fast forward to the present, and digitization has blurred these boundaries almost beyond recog- nition. Today, the world’s leading providers of automation technol- ogy and production machinery have morphed into pioneers of digital transformation, while the big software providers have diver- sified into solutions for industrial manufacturing. “The convergence of automation and IT now sweep- ing across industry is of course also reflected at HANNOVER MESSE,” says Arno Reich, Global Director IAMD and Digital Facto- ry as members of the HANNOVER MESSE family. “With its chosen lead theme of “Industrial Intel- ligence”, HANNOVER MESSE 2019 is not only putting the spotlight on digitally enabled collaboration between people and machines in today’s age of artificial intel- ligence, but also revealing the source of the necessary exper- tise, namely platforms that build bridges between people, machines and data.” “Implementing Industry 4.0 hinges on close cooperation be- tween IT and automation. Nat- urally, things don’t always go smoothly. The main challenge is getting the two disciplines to understand each other,” explains Rainer Glatz, director of the Elec- trical Automation and Software & Digitalization associations within the German Engineering Feder- ation (VDMA), adding: “They speak in different tongues and have different organizational make-ups and approaches, lead- ing to frequent misunderstandings, conflicts of interest and needless competition at their points of inter- section.” That said, there are countless ex- amples of successful collaboration. One of these is Adamos: an IIoT alliance between various plant and machinery providers and software company Software AG. The alliance aggregates machine data from the various participating manufac- turers in order to develop smart services for customers. Similarly, ABB and IBM have embarked on a strategic partnership for artificial Intelligence. AI and its growing importance for industry feature very prominently at HANNOVER MESSE – hence the “Industrial Intelligence” component of the lead theme for its 2019 showcase.
