S
olarmodule sind ständig
verschiedenen
Witte-
rungsbedingungen aus-
gesetzt, die Materialien
und Komponenten stark belas-
ten. Um die Anlagenrentabilität
dauerhaft zu gewährleisten und
zu optimieren, müssen Module
und Systeme regelmäßig über-
prüft und gewartet werden.
Besonders durch die zunehmen-
de Anzahl von PV-Großkraftwerken
wächst auch der Bedarf an effizi-
enten und kostengünstigen Lö-
sungen für Betrieb und Wartung,
wodurch sich ein eigener dynami-
scher Markt für Dienstleistungen
in diesem Bereich etabliert hat.
Die Intersolar Europe, die weltweit
führende Fachmesse für die Solar-
wirtschaft und ihre Partner, und
die begleitende Intersolar Europe
Conference befassen sich daher in
diesem Jahr besonders mit dem
Thema Operation & Maintenance
(O&M) sowie den aktuellen Ent-
wicklungen, Chancen und Heraus-
forderungen in diesem Bereich.
Laut einer Studie von GTM Re-
search und SoliChamba Consulting
ist der globale Markt für Betrieb
und Wartung im Bereich PV-Groß-
kraftwerke im Jahr 2016 auf ein
Volumen von insgesamt 182 Giga-
watt (GW) angewachsen – ganze
54 Prozent mehr als im Vorjahr.
Dabei entstanden mehr als 50 Pro-
zent des O&M Marktes innerhalb
der letzten zwei Jahre. Bis 2021
soll das Marktvolumen sogar auf
mehr als 501 GW steigen und sich
somit fast verdreifachen. China,
Japan, Indien und die USA sind
die Haupttreiber dieses Wachs-
tums. Gerade in den USA und Indi-
en wächst dabei der Trend zu gro-
ßen O&M Portfolios stark, da hier
der Anteil an PV-Großkraftwerken
besonders hoch ist. Allein der
nordamerikanische Markt wird laut
einer Studie von IHS Markit bis
2020 ein Volumen von mehr als 1
Milliarde US-Dollar erreichen.

T
he ever changing weath-
er conditions that solar
modules are exposed to
can put materials and
components under consider-
ably strain. Regular testing
and maintenance for modules
and systems is crucial in order
to guarantee and optimize the
profitability of plants.
As the number of large-scale
PV power plants increases, the
demand for efficient and cost-
effective solutions for operation
and maintenance has also grown,
giving rise to a dynamic market
for services specifically in this
area. For this reason, Intersolar
Europe, the world’s leading exhi-
bition for the solar industry and
its partners, and the accompany-
ing Intersolar Europe Conference
are taking an in-depth look this
year at the topic of operation
and maintenance (O&M), as well
as recent developments, oppor-
tunities and challenges in this
field.
According to a study published
by GTM Research and SoliChamba
Consulting, the global market for
O&M of large-scaled PV plants
grew to a total volume of 182
gigawatts (GW) in 2016 – 54%
more than in the previous year.
This means that more than half
of the O&M market has emerged
in the last two years alone.
Thanks to growth driven mainly
by China, Japan, India and the
USA, the market volume is ex-
pected to almost treble to over
501 GW by 2021. The trend to-
wards large O&M portfolios is
experiencing particularly strong
growth in the USA and India, as
these countries also have a par-
ticularly high number of large-
scale PV power plants. According
to a study by IHS Markit, the
North American market alone will
reach a volume of over 1 billion
US dollars by 2020.
