Seit 1968 be- gleitet sie die Entwick- lung der chemischen Analytik und Bioanalytik. Mehr noch: Sie fördert den Technologie- und Know-how- Transfer, denn sie bringt Geräte- hersteller und Laboranalytiker, Wissenschaftler und Anwender zusammen. Somit treibt die ana- lytica nun schon seit einem hal- ben Jahrhundert den Fortschritt in der Analytik an. Die nächste analytica findet vom 10. bis 13. April 2018 auf dem Gelände der Messe München statt. Ein Blick zurück zeigt, wie grundlegend sich die Branche seit 1968 gewandelt hat: Als die erste analytica stattfand, besaßen viele Laborgeräte noch Zeigeranzeigen. Es gab noch kei- ne Rechner zur automatischen Datenerfassung, keine Hochleis- tungsflüssigkeitschromatogra- phie (HPLC) und keine Kopplung von Gaschromatographen mit Massenspektrometern. Bioanaly- tiker konnten noch keine Gene sequenzieren. Doch viele Ideen schwirrten im Raum. Keine Fra- ge, die Branche brauchte einen Treffpunkt, um sich auszutau- schen, neue Entwicklungen an- zutreiben und sich auf den ak- tuellen Stand zu bringen. Schon die Premiere der analytica im April 1968 war daher ein voller Erfolg. Schneller Anstieg der Besucherzahlen 5.000 Besucher aus 24 Län- dern und 90 Aussteller aus zehn Staaten Europas trafen sich vom 29. April bis 2. Mai 1968 in Mün- chen auf der ersten „ANALYTICA Internationale Fachausstellung für biochemische Analysen“. Schnell stand fest: Die neue Fachmesse sollte alle zwei Jahre veranstaltet werden. Vier Jahre nach dem Start hatte sie ihre Besucherzahl schon auf 9.400 gesteigert, im Jahr 1978 waren es fast 20.000. An Attraktivität hat die Messe bis heute nichts eingebüßt: Die analytica 2016 zählte 35.002 Besucher aus 119 verschiedenen Ländern. analytica conference: Brücke zwischen Wissenschaft und Industrie Der Erfolg der analytica hängt auch damit zusammen, dass sie schon immer mehr war als eine Geräteausstellung. Von Beginn an fand parallel zur Fachmesse ein wissenschaftlicher Kongress statt, zunächst die „Tagung Bio- chemische Analytik“ und seit dem Jahr 1994 die neu aufgeleg- te analytica conference, die alle Aspekte von der analytischen Chemie über die Bioanalytik bis zur klinischen Chemie und Diag- nostik abdeckt. analytica 2018 – Themen und Trends Auch im Jubiläumsjahr tref- fen sich Wissenschaftler, Unter- nehmer und Anwender aus aller Welt auf der internationalen Leitmesse in München. Vom 10. bis 13. April 2018 öffnet die 26. analytica ihre Tore, um das 50-jährige Bestehen mit zahl- reichen Ausstellerneuheiten und Inspirationen für das Labor von morgen zu feiern. Die analytica ist dabei die einzige Messe welt- weit, die die Wertschöpfungs- kette im Labor in ihrer gesamten Tiefe und Breite abdeckt. Zudem verspricht die analytica confe- rence 2018 wieder wissenschaft- liche Höhepunkte. Die Vorträge spannen den Bogen von der Grundlagenforschung hin bis zur Anwendung und das in nahezu allen Bereichen: von der Mate- rialanalytik über die Bio- und Lebensmittelanalytik bis hin zur pharmazeutischen Analytik. Mit den Live Labs, Sonderschauen und dem Forenprogramm wird auch das Rahmenprogramm der analytica 2018 aktuelle Trends und Themen der Branche auf- greifen. Happy Birthday, analytica! I n 2018, analytica will celebrate its 50th anni- versary. Since 1968 it has been accompanying the development of chemical ana- lytics and bioanalytics. And more: It stimulates the transfer of technology and exper- tise, as it brings together equip- ment manufacturers and labora- tory analysts, scientists and users. Analytica has thus been driving the progress of analytics for half a century by now. The next analyt- ica will take place from April 10th to 13th, 2018, on the fairgrounds of Messe München. One look back shows how funda- mentally the industry has changed since 1968: When the first analytica took place, many laboratory devices still had analogue displays. There were no computers for automatic data collection, no high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and no coupling of gas chromatographs with mass spectrometers yet. Bio- analysts were not able to sequence genes yet. But many ideas were buzzing around. Undoubtedly, the industry needed a meeting place to exchange, to drive new develop- ments, and to keep abreast of the latest developments. Thus, the very premiere of analytica in April 1968 was already a complete success. Rapid increase in visitor numbers 5,000 visitors from 24 coun- tries and 90 exhibitors from ten European countries met in Munich from April 29 to May 2, 1968, at the first “ANALYTICA— International Specialist Exhibi- tion for Biochemical Analysis” (or in the German original: „ANALYTICA Internationale Fachausstellung für biochemis- che Analysen“), which covered a total area of 5,000 square meters (1¼ acres) on the old trade fair grounds at the Ther- esienwiese in Munich (widely known as the location of the Oktoberfest). Quickly the deci- sion was made: The new trade fair was going to be held every two years. Four years after the launch, it had already increased its visitor number to 9,400 and by 1978 the number was ap- proaching 20,000. Today, ana- lytica has not lost any of its attractiveness: Analytica 2016 welcomed 35,002 visitors from 119 nations. analytica conference: Bridge between science and industry Analytica’s overwhelming suc- cess is also linked to the fact that it has always been more than just an exhibition of equip- ment. From the very beginning, concomitantly with each trade fair a scientific congress took place, first the “Tagung Bio- chemische Analytik”, and since 1994 the newly launched ana- lytica conference covering all as- pects from analytical chemistry through bioanalytics to clinical chemistry and diagnostics. analytica 2018 – trends and topcis In the anniversary year, sci- entists, entrepreneurs and us- ers from all over the world are once more going to meet at the leading international trade fair in Munich. From April 10 to 13, 2018, the 26th analytica will open its doors to celebrate the 50th anniversary with numerous exhibitor novelties and sources of inspiration for the laborato- ries of tomorrow. Analytica is the only trade fair in the world that covers the value creation chain in the laboratory in its entire depth and width. In ad- dition, analytica conference 2018 once more promises sci- entific highlights. The lectures will cover the ground from basic research to application in almost all areas: from material analysis through bioanalysis and food analysis to pharmaceutical anal- ysis. With the Live Labs, special shows and the forum program, the supporting program of ana- lytica 2018 will likewise address current trends and topics in the industry.
