Was pas- siert heute mit PE, PS, ABS oder PET und CFK, wenn es in seinem ersten Leben aus- gedient hat? Die Lösungen hierfür sehen Experten aus aller Welt auf der Fakuma – Internationale Fachmesse für Kunststoffverarbeitung vom 16. bis 20. Oktober 2018 in Friedrichshafen. Verfahren zur nachhaltigen Wiederverwertung auf der Fakuma 2018 Recycling und Wiederverwer- tung stehen gerade bei den Kunststoff-Be- und Verarbeitern hoch im Kurs. Immer häufiger werden selbst Hightech-Werk- stoffe wie CFK wiederverwertet und einem neuen Zweck zuge- führt. Wichtig hierbei ist, das so genannte „Downcycling“ durch moderne Verfahren und sorten- reine Wiederverwertung verhin- dern. „Schon seit einigen Jah- ren wird die Kunststoff-Branche immer nachhaltiger“, so die Projektleiterin der Fakuma An- nemarie Schur. Das gelte nicht nur für den Wertstoffkreislauf, sondern beispielsweise auch für energiesparende und damit wirtschaftlichere Fertigungsver- fahren, energieeffiziente Ma- schinen und biologisch abbau- bare Kunststoffe. Dabei stehen die nachhaltigen Alternativen ihren klassischen Vorgängern in Beständigkeit, Verarbeitungs- qualität und Gewichteinsparung in nichts nach. Fakuma zeigt Qualität und Innovationsbereitschaft Immer mehr Produkte werden heute mit Hilfe von Kunst- oder Verbundstoffen hergestellt. Der gleichzeitig steigende Anspruch an immer höhere Leistungsfä- higkeit und beste Qualität for- dert Innovationsbereitschaft und neue Entwicklungen. Neben „grünen“ Neuheiten zeigt die Fakuma auch alle Komponenten und Systeme, die für klassische wie innovative Verfahren nö- tig sind. Steigende Automatisierung und Internationalität Auch in der Kunststoffwelt werden Verarbeitungsprozesse immer stärker automatisiert. What happens today with PE, PS, ABS or PET and CFRP, when it reaches the end of its initial service life? Ex- perts from all over the world will find solutions to this is- sue at the Fakuma interna- tional trade fair for plastics processing in Friedrichshafen from the 16th through the 20th of October, 2018. Processes for Sustainable Recycling at Fakuma In particular where plastics processing is involved, recycling is in great demand. Even high- tech materials like CFRP are being recycled more and more frequently and reused for new purposes. The prevention of so- called “downcycling” by means of modern processes and recy- cling of materials sorted accord- ing to type is important in this respect. “The plastics industry has been becoming more and more sustainable for a number of years already”, says Fakuma project manager Annemarie Schur. This not only applies to the recycling of materials, but rather to energy-saving and thus more economical manufacturing processes, energy-efficient ma- chines and biodegradable plas- tics as well. And the sustainable alternatives are in no way infe- rior to their conventional prede- cessors with regard to durability, processability and weight. Fakuma Presents Quality and an Innovative Spirit More and more products are being manufactured today with the help of plastics and compos- ites. Simultaneously rising de- mand for better and better per- formance, as well as top quality, necessitate an innovative spirit and new developments. In addition to new “green” products, Fakuma will also pre- sent all of the components and systems which are required for conventional as well as innova- tive processes. Whether injection moulding, extrusion, thermo- forming, foaming or 3D printing is involved – raw materials pro- ducers, machine builders and manufacturers of precision parts will present all they have to of- fer in the way of innovation for the entire process sequence and value chain in Friedrichshafen. “For many exhibitors, Fakuma is a highly practical platform for unveiling their innovations to the public for the first time”, adds Annemarie Schur. Rising Levels of Automation and Internationalism In the field of plastics too, processing sequences are being automated to an ever greater extent. Demand for Industry 4.0-compatible systems and components which permit inline production steps and quality control is growing rapidly. Where handling is supported by modern robotics and software provides target-versus-actual comparisons in real-time, multi-variant pro- duction is becoming more and more economical in the plastics industry. Beyond this, plastics process- ing companies are now becoming more and more globally aligned. A large variety of variants, small- er manufacturing lots, make-to- order production and shorter product lifecycles are presenting manufacturers of plastic parts all over the world with tremendous challenges. This is demonstrated by the fact that people from all over the world are fascinated by the trade fair for plastics pro- cessing.
